Hydraulic Power Steering Pump Outlet Hose/Inlet Line Replacement

NOTE: Plug the pump outlet hose end and inlet line end after disconnecting them.

1. Remove the engine cover  See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Engine Removal.

2. Raise and support the vehicle  See: Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair.

3. Remove the front wheel on the passenger's side.

4. Place a suitable container under the vehicle to catch any spilled fluid.

5. Drain the power steering fluid from the reservoir.

6. Cover the auto-tensioner, the alternator, and the A/C compressor with several shop towels to protect them from spilled power steering fluid.

7. Disconnect the pump outlet hose (A) and O-ring (B) from the pump.

NOTE:

-

Take care not to spill the fluid on the body or parts. Wipe off any spilled fluid at once.

Do not turn the steering wheel with the pump outlet hose removed.

8. Cover the opening of the pump to prevent foreign material from entering the pump.

9. Remove the pump outlet hose clamp bolt (C).

10. Loosen the 16 mm flare nut (A), and disconnect the inlet line (B).
