When the handbrake is released, the rear wheels remain locked

Step	Test procedure	Result	Action
1	CHECK CONTROL CABLE TRAVEL Check that the return travel of the control cables is unhindered	OK	Move onto step 2
		Control cables do not run freely	Restore correct operation End of diagnosis
		Cable damaged or broken	Replace the cable Op. 3380A30 End of diagnosis
		Linkage damage or broken	Replace the linkage Op. 3380A38 End of diagnosis
		Guard damaged or broken	Replace the guard Op. 3380A44 End of diagnosis
2	CHECK OPERATING LEVER BUTTON Check that the operating lever release button returns freely	OK	Move onto step 3
2		Incorrect adjustment	Dismantle and free the button; if necessary, replace the operating lever Op. 3380A10 End of diagnosis
3	CHECK ATTACHMENT OF CABLE TO REAR BRAKE Check that the cable is attached correctly to the rear brake caliper	OK	Move onto step 4
3		Cable attached incorrectly	Restore the correct attachment of the cable to the brake caliper Op. 3380A30 End of diagnosis
4	CHECK SELF-ADJUSTER Check that the handbrake play take-up device is working properly	OK	Move onto step 5
4		Rear brake caliper faulty	Replace the rear brake caliper concerned Op. 3310B34 End of diagnosis
5	CHECK CORRECT OPERATION Check that the fault is no longer present	OK	End of diagnosis
5		Fault persists	Incorrect selection of diagnostic procedure
