| Unplug the side airbag connector → Chapter. |

| Plug in the connector of the airbag adapter -VAS 6282- at the side airbag connection. |
Caution | Leave the airbag adapter -VAS 6282- connected to the front seat until the front seat has been re-installed. |

Note | Make sure the airbag adapter engages properly. |

| Plug in the airbag connectors in reverse order; paying attention to the following: |

| Heed the safety regulations for pyrotechnic components → Chapter. |

| Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example to plug in the connector), the person concerned must „discharge static“, for instance by briefly grasping hold of the door striker plate. |

Note | Make sure the connectors are pressed on as far as they will go and are heard to engage. |
WARNING | The battery must be connected with the ignition switched on. If pyrotechnic components (airbag, belt tensioner for example) are inexpertly repaired, this may result in unwanted triggering after connecting the battery. There must not be anyone in the vehicle when connecting the battery. |

Note | If the airbag warning lamp -K75- indicates a fault following installation, the event recorder must be interrogated, erased and interrogated again → Vehicle diagnostic tester. |
