Removing and installing bracket for ancillaries Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Support bracket -10 - 222 A-

t  Hook -10 - 222 A /10-

t  Retainer -T10014-

t  Engine support bracket (basic set) -T40091-

Removing –  Remove alternator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.

–  Set up support bracket -10 - 222 A- on top edges of body flanges (left and right) and longitudinal member (right-side), as shown in illustration. –  Attach snap element of hook -10 - 222 A /10- to engine lifting eye. –  Apply light tension to spindle.

–  Remove high-pressure pump → Rep. gr.23.

–  Screw retainer -T10014- into threaded hole for engine support, as shown in illustration, and tighten to 20 Nm. –  Engage hook of spindle -10 - 222 A /11- in retainer -T10014-. –  Apply light tension to spindle. –  Release and disengage hook -10 - 222 A /10-.

–  Remove bolt -arrow-. –  Remove bolts -1- and -2- and remove idler rollers for toothed belt.

–  Remove bolts -1 ... 6- and detach bracket for ancillaries. Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following: Tightening torques l  → Fig. „„Bracket for ancillaries - tightening torque and tightening sequence““. l  → Chapter „Toothed belt - exploded view“.   Note Renew the bolts tightened with specified tightening angle. –  Check that dowel sleeve at top right between bracket for ancillaries and cylinder block is fitted; insert dowel sleeve if necessary. –  Tighten bolts for bracket for ancillaries → Fig.. –  Install high-pressure pump → Rep. gr.23. –  Install alternator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
