Removing and installing control unit for daytime running light and side light J860/J861
Removing and installing control unit for daytime running light and side light -J860-/-J861-
  WARNING
High voltage! Danger to life! Observe environmental requirements.
Safety precautions when handling gas discharge bulbs → Electrical system; General information; Rep. gr.94.
   
Removing
–  Remove headlight housing → Chapter.
–  Release retaining tab -2- and disengage housing cover -1--arrow-.

–  Remove bolts -arrows-.
–  Detach cover -1-.

–  Release retaining tab -5--arrow- and take control unit -1- out of headlight housing -2- as far as possible.
–  Unplug electrical connectors -3, 4-.
–  Detach control unit.

Installing
l  Tightening torque → Chapter
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
–  Fit control unit -2- in headlight housing:
l  Fit outer edge -arrow A- of control unit behind mounting -1-.
l  Inner edge -arrow B- must be positioned on guide.
  Note
An incorrectly positioned control unit cannot be secured with retaining tab -3-.
–  Close housing cover.
–  Install headlight housing → Chapter.
