Removing and installing starter - vehicles with TDI engine
Removing and installing starter - vehicles with TDI engine
   
Removing
–  Disconnect earth cable from battery with ignition switched off → Chapter.
–  Remove noise insulation -1- → Rep. gr.50.

–  Remove nut -1- and detach bracket with electrical wires from stud.
  Note
Disregard -item 2-.
–  Remove bottom starter bolt.

–  Release retaining tabs -arrows- and detach cap -3-.
–  Unscrew nut -2- and detach B+ wire -1-.

–  Unplug connector -3- by sliding locking element to rear and pressing down release catch.
–  Unscrew bolt -1- and lift out starter -2-.
Installing
l  Tightening torque → Chapter
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
–  Install noise insulation → Rep. gr.50.
–  Connect battery. Steps required → Anchor.
