Removing and installing release mechanism
   
Removing and installing release mechanism
t  Removing
–  Remove split rear seat → Chapter.
–  Release rear seat backrest → Chapter.
–  Remove release handle trim → Chapter.
–  Remove cover with padding → Chapter.
–  Remove backrest section cover panel → Chapter.
–  Remove release handle  → Chapter.
–  Mark position of bolts.
–  Unscrew bolts -2- (2x).
–  Tightening torque 21 Nm
–  Unscrew bolt -3-.
–  Tightening torque 21 Nm
t  Installing
–  Screw in bolt -3- and tighten to 21 Nm.
–  Screw in and hand-tighten bolts -2-.
–  Fit release handle  → Chapter.
–  Fit backrest section cover panel → Chapter.
–  Fit release handle trim → Chapter.
–  By turning release mechanism -1-, set release mechanism -1- such that release handle moves freely (tap with hammer).
–  Fit seat in vehicle and align backrest section cover panel in parallel with adjacent seat.
–  Align backrest latch with striker plate and backrest section.
–  Tighten bolts -2- to 21 Nm.
–  Remove release handle trim → Chapter.
–  Fit cover with padding → Chapter.
–  Fit release handle trim → Chapter.
