Additionally required information

  • ◆ Workshop Manual Audi A2 2001 ä Running Gear, Self-diagnosis for ESP
  • ‒ Remove cover under driver's storage compartment.
  • ‒ Adjusting, removing and installing brake light switch

  • ‒ → Push brake pedal in direction of brake servo and hold in this position.
  •     1 -    Brake pedal
  •     2 -    Push rod
  •     3 -    Retaining lugs
  • ‒ Fit special tool T 10006 and pull in direction of the driver's seat, counterhold at the brake pedal (brake pedal must not move backwards during this operation). The retaining lugs -3- of the mount are pressed off from the ball head of the push rod -2-.

Note:

For ease of illustration, the Fig. shows detachment of the brake pedal from the brake servo with pedal cluster removed.

  • ‒ Pull special tool T 10006 and brake pedal together in direction of driver's seat. (The brake pedal is pulled off the ball head of the push rod thereby).

Clipping brake pedal to brake servo

  • ‒ → Hold push rod ball head in front of mounting and push brake pedal in direction of brake servo, so that the ball head audibly engages.

The remaining installation steps are carried out in the reverse sequence:
