  • ◆ V.A.G 1331 Torque wrench
  • ◆ V.A.G 1410 Torque wrench
  • ◆ V.A.G 1869/2 Brake pedal depressor

  • ◆ After replacing brake pads, depress brake pedal firmly several times with vehicle stationary so that the brake pads are properly seated in the normal operating position.
  • ◆ To draw off brake fluid from the reservoir, use a bleeder bottle which is used only for brake fluid. Brake fluid is poisonous and must on no account be siphoned by mouth through a hose.
  • ◆ Brake pedal depressor VAG 1869/2 must be fitted before removing a brake caliper or disconnecting a brake hose from the brake caliper.
  • Hexagon socket head bolt,
    10 Nm

  • ABS speed sensor
    • ◆ Before inserting sensor, clean fitting hole inner surface and coat with lubricating paste G 000 650.
  • Cover plate
  • Brake disc, internally ventilated
    • ◆ Internally ventilated brake disc: ø239.00 mm
    • ◆ When worn always renew both sides.
    • ◆ Do not force brake discs off wheel hub; if necessary, use rust remover otherwise brake discs will be damaged.

  • Cross-head screw, 4 Nm
  • Hexagon bolt, 10 Nm
  • Brake pads
    • ◆ With wear indicator
    • ‒ Once the wear limit is reached (limit: 2 to 3 mm), the warning light in the dash panel insert comes on.
    • ◆ With riveted retaining spring
    • ◆ Thickness 14 mm, brake pad with largest frictional area fitted to the outside
    • ◆ Wear limit: 7 mm including backplate
    • ◆ Check thickness

    • ◆ Before fitting the pads, clean the pad guide surfaces and apply a coat of lithium grease G 052 142 A2.
