After performing work on rear brake:

  • ◆ Release handbrake.
  • ◆ Firmly press brake pedal once.
  • Spring plate
    • ◆ To remove, press against compression spring and turn through 90°
  • Spring
  • Brake shoe with lever for handbrake

    • ◆ removing and installing

    • ◆ Release using special tool 3438
  • Lower return spring
    • ◆ Grease contact points with lubricating paste, part- no. G 000 650
  • Tension spring
  • Brake shoes

    • ◆ Removing and installing
      =>Page 46-35.
    • ◆ Minimum pad thickness 2.5 mm
    • ◆ Check thickness

Brake pads are also available without brake shoes

  • Wedge
    • ◆ Push upwards through threaded wheel-bolt hole to install the brake drum=>Page 46-29.

    • ◆ Before fitting the pads, clean the pad guide surfaces and apply a coat of lithium grease G 052 142 A2.
  • Locating spring
    • ◆ Release using special tool 3438

  • ‒ Lift off dust sleeve
  • ‒ Replace wheel-brake cylinder if brake fluid is found in dust sleeve.

Take care not to damage dust sleeve when lifting off.
