Note
|
1 - | Bolt |
q | Replace |
q | Tightening torque 20 Nm |
q | Loosening and tightening → Chapter |
Note
t | Use the bolt which has been removed in order to adjust the gap. |
t | Insert the new bolt only after the gap has been adjusted (because of thread-locking compound). |
2 - | Drive plate |
q | Different versions → Parts List |
q | Detaching and attaching → Chapter |
q | Releases in the event of excessive torque (e.g. compressor stiff) |
q | Checking and adjusting gap between rubber element of pulley and drive plate → Chapter |
3 - | Shims for adjusting the gap width |
q | Checking and adjusting gap between rubber element of pulley and drive plate → Chapter |
q | Gap 0.5 + / - 0.2 mm |
q | Use up to 3 shims |
Note
t | If the gap is still too small after installing up to 3 shims, check the pulley and the flange on the compressor. |
t | The gap must be within the tolerance over the entire circumference of the drive plate circumference (all 4 measuring locations). |
4 - | Circlip |
q | Replace |
q | Ensure correct positioning (flat side facing compressor) |
q | Removing and installing → Chapter |
5 - | Pulley |
q | The rubber element of the pulley releases in the event of excessive torque (e.g. stiff compressor) and the pulley turns without driving the compressor. |
q | Different versions → Parts List |
q | Detaching and attaching → Chapter |
q | Checking and adjusting gap between rubber element of pulley and drive plate → Chapter |
Note
Under certain conditions (e.g. rough engine running), the rubber element of the pulley may release when there is no fault in the compressor or refrigerant circuit. |
6 - | Compressor |
q | Different models are fitted depending on the engine (and the country version of the vehicle). → Parts List |
q | Clean the flange of the compressor before fitting the pulley. |
