  Note
t  The compressor can be detached/re-attached from/onto the bracket without opening the refrigerant circuit.
t  Do not drain the refrigerant circuit, do not detach the refrigerant hoses and pipes from the compressor.
t  After removal, secure the compressor with a wire, for example, to the side member. Never leave it hanging from the refrigerant pipes.
t  Before removing, mark the running direction of the poly-V-belt with chalk or a felt-tipped pen. If the belt runs in the opposite direction when it is refitted, this can cause breakage.
   
t  The figure shows the set-up for a 1.2 l TDI engine. The installation position in the 1.4 l TDI and petrol engines only differs slightly from this. However, the torques are identical. For this reason, only the set-up for the 1.2 l TDI is illustrated here.
