Installing
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
   
–  Before installing the radio, check the function of the controls for air distribution -A- and temperature setting -B-.
  Note
t  The base plate of the heater controls is fitted with a step-up gear. For one rotation of the rotary knobs for temperature setting or air distribution, the flexible shaft turns twice.
t  Given that the position of the flaps is not visible with the dash panel installed, the correct flap position may be checked as follows:
t  Position of air distribution flaps:
t  Assemble the base plate and the heater control electronics and connect them to the vehicle electrical system.
t  Switch on the ignition.
t  Switch the fresh-air blower -V2- via the rotary knob -C- to speeds “3” or “4”.

t  Turn the rotary knob for air distribution -A- and check that the direction in which the air flows out corresponds to the position of the rotary switch.
t  Position of the temperature control flaps:
t  Assemble the base plate and the heater control electronics and connect them to the vehicle electrical system.

t  Turn the rotary knob for temperature setting -B-; both end positions must be reached.
t  If the check reveals that the installation of one or both shafts is not OK:
t  Detach the relevant shaft from the base plate.
t  Give the appropriate rotary knob half a turn (180°).
t  Reattach the shaft to the base plate and check the function again.
