Checking electric additional heater with a capacity of 900 watts |
Note t
The heating element for additional heater -Z35- with a power rating of 900 watts consists of several layers of resistance elements, which are capable together of producing a heat output of a maximum of 1000 W (if all 3 inputs are actuated). These resistance elements have a positive temperature coefficient (the resistance increases with the temperature and the current consumption decreases).
t
The resistance heating elements are actuated individually; however, as they are all combined in the heating element for additional heater -Z35-, the current in the heating element for additional heater -Z35- flows to the earth connection via the individual resistance elements in the heating element -Z35- in such a way that it is exposed to minimal resistance.
t
The heating element for additional heater -Z35- is designed such that, when it is switched on, it is not possible for a current in excess of 35 A to flow via any of the contacts (the resistance increases immediately after switch-on, and the current decreases).
t
Since workshop equipment is not capable of measuring resistances smaller than 10 Ω with sufficient accuracy, it is not possible to establish if there is a short circuit in the additional heater element..
