Checking gearbox oil
Checking gearbox oil
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Socket (27 mm) -3257-
For gear oil specification, refer to → Electronic parts catalogue.
  W00-0303
–  Remove gear oil inspection plug -arrow-.
Oil level is correct when gearbox oil is up to bottom lip of filler hole.
–  Screw in plug -arrow-.
Tightening torque:
  A34-0352
Oil filler plug25 Nm

Note the following when filling with new oil:
–  Remove plug -arrow-.
–  Fill up gear oil to bottom lip of filler hole.
–  Screw in plug -arrow-.
–  Start engine, engage a gear and allow gearbox to turn for approx. 2 minutes.
–  Switch off engine and remove plug -arrow-.
–  Top up gear oil again to bottom lip of filler hole.
–  Screw in plug -arrow-.
