Installing > < Removing and installing wishbone with swivel joint and suspension bracket

Removing
Removing
–  Remove wheel.
–  Remove noise insulation.
   
–  Remove bolt -1- from wishbone -2-.
–  Unscrew nut from swivel joint.

–  Apply ball joint puller -3287 A--1- as shown in the illustration and press out swivel joint.
  Note!
Take care not to damage rubber boot when inserting ball joint puller.

–  Remove bolts -arrows-.
  A40-0406
–  Remove remaining bolts securing steering box to subframe -arrows- and tie up steering box with wire (or similar).
–  Place engine and gearbox jack -V.A.G 1383 A- under subframe.
–  Locate subframe → Chapter.
–  Carefully lower subframe.

–  Detach clamps for anti-roll bar from suspension bracket -arrows-.
–  Pull wishbone with suspension bracket out of subframe.
