Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Drip tray -V.A.G 1306-
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-
t  Tool insert (17 mm) -V.A.G 1331/6-
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1332-
t  Spring-type clip pliers -VAS 5024 A-
t  Adapter set for tamper-proof wheel bolts -T40004-
t  Extractor bottle (commercially available)

  Note!
t  Repairs must not be performed on the motor/pump unit
t  If problems are reported, trace the fault by means of a function test, pressure test, leak test and self-diagnosis.
t  If a fault is found, the motor/pump unit must be renewed.
t  Small quantities of hydraulic fluid will remain in the motor/pump unit as well as in the return line and expansion hose after extraction.
t  Do not re-use hydraulic fluid which has been drained off.
t  The expansion hose and return line must not be clamped with hose clamps, e.g. -3094- or other tools. Clamping can cause damage to the expansion hose and return line.
t  To avoid damage, a bending radius of less than 100 mm is not permissible when bending or suspending the expansion hose and return line.
t  For tightening torques, refer to → Chapter onwards.
