General Body Assembly, Interior (Repair groups 68, 69, 70, 72, 74)

Removing and installing cover and upholstery for seat pan
  • ◆ Removing
    • ‒ Removing sports seat
    • ‒ Removing backrest => Page 72-78
    • ‒ Dismantling drawer => Page 72-89
    • ‒ Remove drawer frame => Page 72-90
    • ‒ Unclip (2x) connector -2- for seat heating from bracket.
    • ‒ Disengage the rubber belts -2- (2x).
    • ‒ Lever out fastening strip -8- along edge of fabric cover -1-.

    • ‒ Remove the fabric cover -1- and cut through the wire clips -4-.
  • ◆ Installing
    • ‒ Use stapling tool V.A.G 1634 to fit new staples.
    • ‒ When fitting, staple transverse rods first, then longitudinal rods.

    • ‒ Removing and installing seat heating in vehicles without side airbag =>Fig.2
    • ◆ For vehicles with side airbag the seat heating is offered as spare part only in connection with sensor mat and seat upholstery.
