Test requirement:

  • ● Brake system (brake master cylinder, brake hoses, brake pipes and brake calipers) checked for proper operation and freedom from leaks

High-pressure test:

  • ‒ Screw out bleed screw at one of the front brake calipers. Connect up pressure gauge V.A.G 1310 A and perform bleeding.
  • ‒ Insert brake pedal depressor V.A.G 1869/2 between brake pedal and driver's seat. Pre-tension brake pedal until pressure gauge reading is 50 bar. During the 45 s test period, drop in pressure must not exceed 4 bar.

If it does, replace hydraulic control unit.

Low-pressure test:

  • ‒ Set brake pedal depressor such that pressure gauge reading is 6 bar.
  • ‒ During the 3 minute test period,drop in pressure must not exceed1 bar.

If it does, replace hydraulic control unit.
