• ‒ → Remove engine cover panel -arrows-.

• ‒ → Release spring clamp -3- and push back on air hose.

Vehicles with exhaust gas recirculation:

• ‒ Remove bolts -1- and -2- and disconnect exhaust gas recirculation pipe from top of throttle valve housing.

All models

• ‒ Disconnect spark plug connectors.

• ‒ → Unplug connector -arrow- on intake manifold changeover valve -N156.

• ‒ → Unscrew bolts -arrows- for upper section of intake manifold.
• ‒ Pivot up upper section of intake manifold.

• ‒ → Pull connector off Hall sender -G40 -arrow-.
• ‒ Unplug connectors from injectors.

• ‒ → Disconnect vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator -arrow-.

• ‒ → Press release catches and disconnect fuel supply line -1- and fuel return line -2.

• ‒ → Unscrew bolts -arrows- securing fuel rail to lower section of intake manifold and separate upwards from lower section of intake manifold with injectors in place.

• ‒ → Unscrew bracket -6- for oil dipstick guide tube from lower section of intake manifold.
• ‒ Unscrew bolts -1 ... 5- and remove lower section of intake manifold.

Note:

Plug intake ports on cylinder head with clean cloths.

Installing

Install in reverse sequence; note the following points:

Replace gaskets and seals.

• ‒ Install upper section of intake manifold .
