• ◆ Universal dial gauge bracket VW 387
• ◆ Dial gauge

Test sequence

Perform measurement with bucket tappets removed and with bearing cap at chain sprocket end and double bearing cap at camshaft sprocket end installed.

• ‒ Attach dial gauge with universal dial gauge holder VW 387 to cylinder head:

→ Inlet camshaft

→ Exhaust camshaft

Wear limit for inlet and exhaust camshaft.

• ◆ Axial play: no more than 0.20 mm
