Basic setting
Basic setting
The following operation can be implemented with the basic setting function “Function 04” with the engine stopped and the ignition switched on:
t  Adaption of throttle valve module to engine control unit ⇒ Display group 060 ( → Chapter)
t  Vehicles with automatic gearbox: Adaption of kickdown function of accelerator position sender to engine control unit ⇒ Display group 063
The following operation can be implemented with the basic setting function with the engine running:
t  Lambda control adaption → Chapter
  Note
t  No faults stored in fault memory.
t  Coolant temperature at least 80 °C.
t  Electrical equipment switched off (radiator fan must not run during the test).
t  Air conditioner switched off.
t  Vehicles with automatic gearbox: selector lever in position P or N
Test sequence
–  Connect up the vehicle diagnostic and service information system -VAS 5052- and select the engine control unit. The ignition must be switched on when doing so.
Or, depending on desired operation:
–  Start engine.
–  Select basic setting.
–  Enter the desired display group number.
Example:
–  Enter “000” for “Display group number 000” and confirm with the Q key.
  Note
After selecting the display group number, the ACF valve is closed and the air conditioner compressor switched off.
