| The function “04 - Basic setting” can be used to perform the following procedures: |
| t
| Bleeding brake system via “display group 001” if brake fluid reservoir has run dry → Chapter. This basic setting is only necessary if one or more of the chambers in the brake fluid reservoir has been completely emptied (e.g. leaks in brake system). |
| t
| Checking function of brake detection switch, ESP -F83- via “display group 031” → Chapter. |
| t
| Only four-wheel drive vehicles: switching off longitudinal acceleration sender -G251- via display group 040 → Chapter (e.g. to check the brake system on test rollers). |
| t
| Performing zero compensation of steering angle sender -G85- via “display group 060” → Chapter, e.g. after removing steering wheel, after performing adjustment on the running gear during wheel alignment and after renewing the following components: ABS with EDL control unit -J104-, steering angle sender -G85-, steering column, or if zero compensation is required according to fault tables. |
| t
| Performing zero compensation of lateral acceleration sender -G200- via “display group 063” → Chapter, e.g. after renewing the following components: ABS with EDL control unit -J104- and lateral acceleration sender -G200-, or if zero compensation is required according to fault tables. |
| t
| Performing zero compensation of brake pressure sender 1 -G201- and brake pressure sender 2 -G214- via “display group 066” → Chapter, e.g. after renewing the following components: ABS with EDL control unit -J104-, brake pressure sender 1 -G201-, brake pressure sender 2 -G214-, or if zero compensation is required in fault tables. |
| t
| Only applicable to four-wheel drive vehicles: Performing zero compensation of longitudinal acceleration sender -G251- via “display group 069” → Chapter (e.g. after renewing the following components: ABS with EDL control unit -J104- or longitudinal acceleration sender -G251-). |
