Servicing rear brakes > < Renewing front brake caliper (RS 3)
Removing and installing front brake disc (RS 3)
Removing and installing front brake disc (RS 3)
  Note
Mark brake pads when removing them if they are to be reinstalled. Reinstall in their original position to prevent uneven braking.
Removing
–  Raise the vehicle.
–  Remove wheels.
  Note
The pad wear indicator wire is only installed at the left brake caliper.
–  Remove brake caliper → Chapter.
  Note
Do not suspend the brake caliper from the brake hose. Secure it to the body with a suitable wire.
   
–  Remove bolt -7-.
–  Pull brake disc off wheel hub.
  Note
Keep brake disc straight while detaching it.
Installing
  Note
Always renew bolt -7-.
–  Clean contact surfaces on wheel hub and brake disc.
–  Fit brake disc onto wheel hub.
  Note
Keep brake disc straight while installing it.
  A46-10138
–  Secure brake disc with new bolt -7- (4 Nm).
–  Install brake caliper → Chapter.
Fit wheels → Wheels and tyres; Rep. gr.44.
–  Lower vehicle.
–  Check brake fluid level and top up if necessary.
  WARNING
Firmly depress the brake pedal several times with the vehicle stationary, so that the brake pads are properly seated in their normal operating position.
  WARNING
Before driving vehicle for the first time, make sure function of brakes is OK.
