Removing circulation pump -V55-
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Hose clamps up to Ø 40 mm -VAS 3093- or hose clamps up to Ø 25 mm -VAS 3094-
–  Switch off ignition and auxiliary heater.
–  Remove noise insulation → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. Gr. 50; Body, front.
–  Remove bumper cover (front) → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. Gr. 63; Front bumper.
–  Dissipate pressure in coolant circuit by opening cap at coolant expansion tank → Engine, mechanics; Rep. Gr. 19
–  If necessary, remove windscreen washer system fluid reservoir (different versions, not necessary on all vehicles) → Electrical system; Rep. Gr. 92.
   
–  Remove bolt -A-.
–  Remove air intake silencer -B-.

–  Release and detach connectors -A-.
  Note
Connectors are released by pressing them towards component and releasing catch -E- whilst pressing connector.
–  Clamp off coolant hoses -B- and -C- (e.g. using hose clamps up to Ø 40 mm -VAS 3093-).
–  Detach coolant hoses -B- (from engine or heater coolant shut-off valve -N279-) and -C- (to auxiliary heater).
–  Remove bolt -D- and detach circulation pump -V55-.
