t  Brake filling and bleeding equipment -VAS 5234-
t  Brake fluid specification → Brake system; Rep. Gr.47.
  Note
t  The clutch system must be bled after performing work on the hydraulic clutch mechanism.
t  In the following steps make sure that no brake fluid escapes onto the longitudinal member or onto the gearbox below.
t  Prefilling the system is not necessary.

Procedure
–  Pull clutch pedal back to its normal rest position.
–  Connect brake filling and bleeding equipment -VAS 5234- to brake fluid reservoir.
–  Remove protective cap from bleeder screw -arrow- on slave cylinder and connect hose from bleeder bottle to bleeder screw.
–  Switch on bleeding equipment.
l  Operating pressure 2.0 bar
–  Now open bleeder screw approx 1/4 turn and allow 100 cm3 of brake fluid to run out.
–  Close bleeder screw.
–  Rapidly operate clutch pedal from stop to stop 15 times.
–  Bleed off an additional 50 cm3 of brake fluid.
–  Close bleeder screw.
–  Switch off brake filling and bleeding equipment -VAS 5234- and release operating pressure (2.0 bar).
–  Press clutch pedal slowly down with your foot 10 times and check that clutch system is functioning properly.
–  Bleed system once again if necessary.
–  Disconnect bleeder hose and fit protective cap.
–  Detach brake filling and bleeding equipment -VAS 5234- from brake fluid reservoir.
