t  Engine/gearbox support -VW 540-

t  Support clamp -VW 313-
  W00-0229
–  Secure gearbox to engine/gearbox support -VW 540--arrows- and fit into support clamp -VW 313-.
–  You can use workshop crane -V.A.G 1202 A- to fit gearbox into support clamp → Chapter „Transporting the automatic gearbox“.
  Caution
The centre of gravity of the gearbox is outside the pivot centre of the support clamp. A second mechanic has to hold the gearbox housing when it is being turned to prevent it from swinging round.
  Note!
If filled gearbox is turned on the assembly stand so that oil pan points upwards, vent holes on gearbox housing must be sealed.
