Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Hand-operated vacuum pump -VAS 6213-
  W00-10259
Procedure
l  Vacuum hoses and hose connections do not leak.
l  Vacuum hoses are not clogged.
–  Disconnect vacuum hose at combination valve.
–  Connect hand-operated vacuum pump to vacuum connection on combination valve.

–  Remove air intake hose -arrow- at throttle valve module -J338- and push slightly to the side.

–  Disconnect secondary air hose at the position marked with an -arrow-.
–  Blow gently into hose for combination valve (do not use compressed air).
l  The combination valve should be closed; it should not be possible to blow through the valve.
–  Operate vacuum pump.
l  The combination valve should open; it should now be possible to blow through the hose.
If the combination valve does not open:
–  Renew combination valve → Chapter.
