High-pressure pump - exploded view (for engine code letters BMB, BLX, BLY, BLR, BVZ and BVY) > < Checking fuel pressure and residual pressure (up to high-pressure pump)

1 - Roller tappet
q   Can possibly stick inside cylinder head after removal of high-pressure pump
2 - O-ring
q   Renew
q   Before installing, lubricate lightly with clean engine oil
3 - Mechanical single-plunger high-pressure pump with fuel pressure regulating valve -N276-
4 - Bolts
q   10 Nm
5 - Banjo bolt with tapered sealing seat
q   Connection for fuel return pipe to fuel tank
q   Counterhold connection on high-pressure pump when loosening
q   Renew banjo bolt
q   17 Nm
q   Install fuel pipe so it is free of tension (all parts must be clean)
6 - Banjo bolt with tapered sealing seat
q   Connection for high-pressure fuel pipe leading to fuel rail
q   Counterhold connection on high-pressure pump when loosening
q   Renew banjo bolt
q   25 Nm
q   Install fuel pipe so it is free of tension (all parts must be clean)
7 - High-pressure fuel pipe
q   Fuel pressure in high-pressure pipe can be up to 120 bar! Wear safety goggles and protective clothing to avoid possible injury and skin contact. Wrap a cloth around the connection before loosening the fuel pipes. Then dissipate pressure by carefully slackening banjo bolts
