| If necessary, adjust the position of the backing plate -2-. |

| Unfasten the wire clips and press the two connecting rods -3- off the ball studs. |

| Check whether the convertible top locks have reached their end position by pressing firmly on the ball stud -4- in closing direction. |
| Suction fitting of the connecting rods -3- on the ball studs -4- must be possible in this position. |

| Slacken off the bolts of the convertible top lock motor -V223- by roughly one turn. |
| –
| On the right side of the vehicle, attach the connecting rod -3- to the ball stud -4-. |
| –
| Tighten the bolts of the convertible top lock motor -V223-. |
| –
| On the left side of the vehicle, slacken off the lock nut -5- and adjust the ball stud by screwing the thread in or out. |
| –
| Set the connecting rod -3- so as to permit a suction fit on the ball stud -4-. |
| –
| Tighten the lock nut in this position. |
