Removing and installing backrest cover and padding |
1 - | Backrest cover |
Removing |
– | Remove seat → Chapter. |
– | Remove backrest → Chapter. |
– | Remove outer parts of both seat belt guides → Fig.. |
– | Prise cover off belt guide, drill out pop rivets with Ø 5.0 mm bit and detach belt guide → Fig.. |
– | Prise fastening strip off guide on backrest -6- all around edge of backrest cover -1- → Fig.. |
– | In bended sections, fastening strip is additionally secured with retaining clips -3-; carefully remove retaining clips. |
– | Carefully detach seams of backrest cover from Velcro joint on backrest padding -4-. |
– | Disengage retaining strip at bottom of pneumatic block -5-. |
– | Remove backrest cover. |
Installing |
Install in reverse order of removal. |

q | For fastening strip on backrest cover |
q | Install in bended area of backrest |
4 - | Backrest padding |
Removing |
– | Remove backrest cover -1-. |
– | Disengage flaps for backrest bolster adjustment -7- from retaining bracket on backrest → Fig.. |
– | Disconnect pneumatic hose for backrest bolster adjustment |
– | Detach backrest padding from backrest. |
Installing |
Install in reverse order of removal. |
5 - | Pneumatic block |
Removing |
– | Remove backrest cover -1-. |
– | Remove backrest padding -4-. |
– | Carefully detach pneumatic block from backrest (glued together). |
– | Swivel pneumatic block forwards at upper edge. |
– | Move wiring harness clear. |
– | Remove pneumatic block. |
Installing |
Install in reverse order of removal. |
– | If necessary, renew double-sided adhesive tape → Parts catalogue. |
