Removing
–  Drain off coolant → Chapter.
–  Remove front exhaust pipe with main catalytic converter: vehicles with front-wheel drive → Chapter, vehicles with four-wheel drive → Chapter.
–  Remove starter catalytic converter: vehicles with front-wheel drive → Chapter, vehicles with four-wheel drive → Chapter.
   
–  Detach vacuum hose -3-.
–  Remove nuts -2- and bolts -1- and -4-.
–  Remove mechanical exhaust gas recirculation valve together with connecting pipe.
–  Remove exhaust gas recirculation cooler → Chapter.

–  Remove bolts -1- for exhauster pump on cylinder head (left-side) and turn pump in direction of -arrow-.
–  Remove exhauster pump.

–  Disconnect coolant hose -arrow- at coolant pipe (bottom left) from coolant pipe (front).
  A19-0100
–  Disconnect coolant hoses -1- and -2- at coolant pipe (top left).
–  Remove bolt -3-.
–  Remove coolant pipe (bottom left).
  A19-0099
–  Disconnect coolant hose going to heat exchanger at coolant pipe (top left).
–  Slacken securing bolt -arrow- of coolant pipe (left-side).
–  Pull coolant pipe (top left) to rear out of cylinder block.
–  Detach coolant pipe (top left).
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
  Note
t  Renew gaskets, O-rings and self-locking nuts.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue.
–  Before installing, clean and smoothen sealing surface for O-ring.
–  Lubricate new O-ring with “G12+” and slide onto coolant pipe.
–  Push coolant pipe (top left) into bore on cylinder block.
–  Install exhaust gas recirculation cooler → Chapter.
–  Install mechanical exhaust gas recirculation valve  → Chapter.
–  Install starter catalytic converter: vehicles with front-wheel drive → Chapter, vehicles with four-wheel drive → Chapter.
–  Install front exhaust pipe with main catalytic converter: vehicles with front-wheel drive → Chapter, vehicles with four-wheel drive → Chapter.
–  Fill cooling system → Anchor.
