Removing and installing cylinder head cover (right-side) Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Removal lever -80-200- t  Sealant → Parts catalogue Removing   Note All cable ties which are released or cut open when removing must be refitted in the same position when installing.

–  Remove engine cover panel -arrows-.

–  Remove cover -1- at right of engine compartment.

–  Remove bolts -arrows-. –  Disengage activated charcoal filter solenoid valve 1 -N80--item 1- at air duct. –  Remove air duct -2-.

–  Pry off retaining clips -2- for wiring harness at air cleaner housing (use removal lever -80-200-). –  Detach electrical connector -1- at air mass meter. –  Remove air cleaner housing -arrows-.

–  Remove cover panel for cylinder head cover (right-side) -arrows-.

–  Pull off spark plug connectors -arrows-.

–  Detach guide tube for dipstick at cylinder head -arrow-.   Note The guide tube for the engine oil dipstick must not be lifted out completely, as otherwise the O-ring at the base of the guide tube will have to be renewed. –  Unbolt bracket for hydraulic pressure pipe from cylinder head cover. –  Remove crankcase breather hose from cylinder head cover.

–  Unfasten nuts -1- and -2- for cylinder head cover and detach cylinder head cover. Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:   Note Renew gasket for cylinder head cover if damaged.

–  Apply small quantity of sealant to transitions -arrows- at top sealing surface of cylinder head; sealant → Parts catalogue.

–  Tighten inner nuts -1- for cylinder head cover. –  Then tighten outer nuts -2- in stages and in diagonal sequence. Tightening torques
