Removing and installing Lambda probe -G39- with Lambda probe heater -Z19-
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Lambda probe open ring spanner set -3337-
Removing
–  Remove engine cover panel → Chapter.
  W00-0206
–  Unplug electrical connector -arrow- for Lambda probe (cylinder bank 2).
–  Detach coolant expansion tank and lay it aside.

–  Unbolt heat shield.
  A23-10099
–  Unscrew Lambda probe using Lambda probe open ring spanner set -3337-.
Installing
When installing, note the following:
  Note
t  Threads of new Lambda probes are already coated with assembly paste; the paste must not get into the slots on the probe body.
t  In the case of a used Lambda probe grease only the thread with high-temperature paste. This high-temperature paste must not get into the slots on the probe body. For high-temperature paste refer to servicing materials in → Parts catalogue.
t  When installing, the Lambda probe wiring must always be re-attached at the same locations to prevent it from coming into contact with the exhaust pipe.
t  Tightening torque: 55 Nm
