Adjusting door - Adjustment sequence
Adjusting door subframe

V57-0438

Note:

Door shell must already be adjusted.

  • ‒ → Screw on bolts -3- so that door component carrier -1- can still be adjusted (bolt at adjuster -4- is only to be fitted but not tightened).
  • ‒ Have second mechanic sit in vehicle
  • ‒ Close door.

V57-0438
  • ‒ → Have second mechanic press door component carrier from inside against roof and A-pillar.
Subframe must be forced slightly to allow for resilience of rubber seal.
  • ‒ First mechanic checks correct positioning of door component carrier from outside.
  • ‒ Push adjusting wedge -4- upwards, until it contacts the surfaces of the door shell -2- and the door component carrier-1-.
Important
Adjusting wedge -4- must always be installed.

Angle of door can be adjusted in B-pillar area by shifting adjusting wedge -4-.

For example, if the door protrudes too far at the back, the adjusting wedge must be pushed further up.

The bottom of the door consequently slopes towards the centre of the vehicle and the top of the door leans outwards.

  • ‒ Carefully open door and tighten bolts -3-.
    Tightening torque 30 Nm.
  • ‒ Close door and check adjustment of door component carrier.
  • ‒ Procedure must be repeated if the adjustment of door component carrier is still not correct.

Check dimension for door subframe

A57-0035
  • ‒ → The outer sealing lip -3- must be flush along the A-pillar and roof trim strip -2-.
  • ‒ Gap between bottom edge of roof trim strip -2- and bottom edge of seal -3- is 18.3 mm (dimension -a-).
  • ‒ Window -4- enters 5 mm (dimension -b-) into seal for door component carrier -3-.
