• ◆ Extractor lever VW 681
• ◆ Thrust pad 3382
• ◆ Drip tray V.A.G 1306

Removing

• ‒ Bolt drive shaft/wheel hub whilst the vehicle is standing on its wheels.
• ‒ Remove wheel.

• ‒ Unbolt the heat shield for right drive shaft.
• ‒ Remove right drive shaft

=> Running Gear, FWD and 4WD; Repair group 40; Removing and installing drive shaft

• ‒ → Remove bolt for flange shaft -arrow-. Whilst doing this secure flange shaft with drift against turning.
• ‒ Place drip tray V.A.G 1306 underneath.

• ‒ Pull out the right flange shaft.
• ‒ → Pull out flange shaft oil seal.

Installing

• ‒ Coat outer circumference of seal with gear oil.
• ‒ → Drive new seal in up to stop, for this purpose do not cant seal.
• ‒ Installation position: The open side of the oil seal faces toward the gearbox.
• ‒ Install right flange shaft.

• ‒ → Remove bolt for flange shaft -arrow-. (23 Nm) Whilst doing this secure flange shaft with drift against turning.
• ‒ Install drive shaft.

=> Running Gear, FWD and 4WD; Repair group 40; Removing and installing drive shaft

• ‒ Unbolt the heat shield for the drive shaft, right.
• ‒ Check gear oil level in front final drive .
