Interrogating fault memory
  • ‒ Connect the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 => Page 01-2, and select the vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics" from the menu. When doing this the engine should be idling.

Note:

If the engine does not start, turn the engine over for at least 5 seconds using the starter. After doing this, do not switch off the ignition.

 
A01-0122

→ Display on VAS 5051:

  • ‒ Select diagnosis function "02 - Interrogate fault memory" from the menu -1-.
 
A87-0316

→ Display on VAS 5051:

  •     1 -    Content of fault memory:
    • - 0 faults detected
    • or
    • - X faults detected
  •     2 -    Identification of fault
    • - Fault code
    • - Location/cause of fault
    • - Type of fault

 
A01-0122

A - If one or more faults have been detected:

  • ‒ Print out screen display or self-diagnosis log.
  • ‒ Press the ◂ button to exit from function "02 - Interrogate fault memory".

→ Display on VAS 5051:

  • ‒ Rectify fault(s) according to instructions in fault table => Page 01-12.
  • ‒ Again select diagnosis function "02 - Interrogate fault memory" from the menu and then erase fault memory => Page 01-9.
  • ‒ Select diagnosis function "06 - End output" Page 01-11.

B - If no faults have been detected:

  • ‒ Select diagnosis function "06 - End output" Page 01-11.
