Removing and installing head restraint guides - vehicles from 11.2004 onwards

Removing

–	Press and hold release button -2- in direction of -arrow A- and pull head restraint -1- out upwards as far as possible -arrow B-.

–	Press in release button -2- on head restraint -1- as far as it will go -arrow-.

–	Keep pressing the release button in and push the head restraint down as far as possible on the posts.

–	Take the head restraint out of the head restraint guides.

Head restraint guide without release button:

–	Remove backrest cover panel: standard seat → Chapter, seat with electric adjustment → Chapter.

–	Press retaining tab -2- in direction of -arrow A- and retaining claws in direction of -arrow B-.

–	Pull head restraint guide -1- upwards out of mounting.

Note

The head restraint guide cannot be removed without becoming damaged.

Head restraint guide with release button:

–	Remove backrest cover panel: standard seat → Chapter, seat with electric adjustment → Chapter.

–	Release retaining tab -2- in direction of -arrow- and simultaneously pull head restraint guide -1- upwards out of mounting.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

l	The head restraint guide can only be installed in one position.

l	Guide tab of head restraint guide must engage in recess of mounting for head restraint guide.
