  Note
t  Heed notes on removal of version “1” pulley, as these also apply to version “2” → Chapter.
t  Perform preparatory work as described for detaching version “1” pulley → Chapter.
t  Pulley is made of plastic, is sensitive to impact and should be treated with extreme care.
   
t  If overload safeguard of drive plate -C- has been tripped, remove circlip -A- and then prise drive plate off pulley -D-.

t  For noise optimisation, a plastic disc -B- may have been affixed to the drive plate of the pulley -A- → Parts catalogue. This plastic disc -B- reduces the rattling (castanet-like) noise which can occur at the pulley particularly in the case of vehicles with diesel engine in air conditioner “Econ mode” (in air conditioner full-load operation the noise is scarcely audible).
