Installing > < Removing and installing reservoir
Removing
Removing
–  Drain refrigerant circuit → Air conditioner with refrigerant R134a.
–  Remove entire front bumper → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. Gr.63.
–  Move the lock carrier to service position (not always necessary, depends on vehicle) → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. Gr.50.
–  If applicable, remove charge air cooler/secondary air pump motor (not always necessary, depends on vehicle) → Engine, mechanics; Rep. Gr.21 and → Engine, mechanics; Rep. Gr.26
   
–  Screw out bolts -A- and detach refrigerant pipes -B- and -C-.

–  Screw out bolts -A-.
–  Detach lug at holder for reservoir -B- from body.
–  Detach reservoir with holder.
–  Slacken off bolt -C- and pull reservoir out of holder -D-.
  Note
t  Seal open pipe connections.
t  Connection of refrigerant pipes differs depending on engine version → Parts List.
t  Keep reservoir closed as long as possible. Only remove caps immediately prior to installation (reservoir contains a desiccant bag which soon becomes saturated with moisture and hence unusable after opening reservoir).
