Sealing off burner element from housing with horizontally installed auxiliary heater > < Removing and installing (replacing)

Removing
–  Remove auxiliary heater → Chapter.
–  Remove glow plug for heater -Q9- → Chapter.
   
–  Detach top part of housing with intake air duct -C- → Chapter.
–  Remove bolt -A-.
–  Remove flame monitor -G64- from burner element mount and unplug connector to combustion air blower → Chapter.

–  Pull burner element -A- out of auxiliary heater housing -B- (e.g. by way of mount for flame monitor in burner element housing).
  Note
t  Do not pull on impeller -C- of combustion air blower to remove burner element.
t  The combustion air blower -V6- runs at a maximum speed of approx. 8000 rpm and is thus balanced at the factory together with the impeller -C-. Care should therefore be taken on removal and installation not to squash or twist the impeller on the shaft of the combustion air blower -V6-.
Installing
–  Assemble in reverse order, paying attention to the following

t  Clean auxiliary heater combustion chamber and burner element prior to assembly.
t  In the case of a horizontally installed auxiliary heater, seal off burner element from housing in lower area → Chapter.

t  On installation, pay attention to opening for glow plug -B- in burner element -C- → Chapter.
