t  The two wiring connections between the auxiliary heater control unit -J364- and the vehicle (contacts “9” and “4” in the vehicle connector) are used for measuring the battery voltage for the “undervoltage shutoff” function. The fault “Open circuit” is entered if a fault is found at this wiring connection.
t  The fault “Supply voltage” results in deactivation of the auxiliary heater. The auxiliary heater cannot be re-started until the engine has been started at least once and the fault is no longer present (signal “Terminal 15 on” must be received at least once via convenience data bus system).

Fuel gauge

t  Signal too low / SP

t  The fault “Fuel supply” results in deactivation of the auxiliary heater. The auxiliary heater cannot be re-started until the engine has been started at least once and the fault is no longer present (signal “Terminal 15 on” must be received at least once via convenience data bus system).
t  To prevent the fuel tank running completely empty in auxiliary heating mode, the control unit in dash panel insert -J285- transmits the message “Signal too low” as soon as the “Tank warning” symbol is activated or the fuel gauge enters the “red zone”. The auxiliary heater control unit -J364- then does not switch on the auxiliary heater (or auxiliary ventilation). This avoids situations where the engine cannot be started on account of insufficient fuel.
