Basic setting procedure

With the ignition switched off, connect up vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051A- with diagnostic wire -VAS 5051/5A- and K-wire adapter -VAS 6017B- (or K-wire adapter -VAS 6017A-) to the 16-pin diagnostic socket in the vehicle and use address word “18” to select the auxiliary heater control unit -J364- → Chapter, → Chapter and → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations → Chapter.

Indicated on display of vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051A-:

–	Interrogate fault memory → Chapter and eliminate any faults displayed.

–	Check and if necessary correct encoding of auxiliary heater → Chapter.

–	Erase fault memory if necessary → Chapter.

–	Select function “04 - Basic setting”.
