Removing and installing gear lever knob with boot

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Removing
  Note
The gear lever knob is removed together with the gear lever boot and the cover for the centre console.
–  Open ashtray.
–  Unclip cover for centre console and lift it off -arrows-.

Gear lever knob with clip:
–  Pull boot up and over gear lever knob.
–  Open clip -arrow- and pull off gear lever knob together with boot.

Gear lever knob with locking mechanism:
–  Release connecting element -1- in direction of arrow and pull gear lever knob off upwards together with gear lever boot.
Installing
Perform installation in reverse sequence of removal.
