Removing and installing thermostat housing with map-controlled engine cooling thermostat -F265-
Removing
  Caution
Observe notes on procedure for disconnecting the battery → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27.
–  Disconnect earth wire at battery with ignition switched off.
–  Drain off coolant → Chapter.
–  Remove intake manifold → Rep. Gr.24.
–  Remove poly V-belt → Chapter.
–  Remove alternator → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27
–  Remove coolant pipe (small) → Chapter.
   
–  Unplug electrical connector -5-.
–  Detach coolant hoses -1- and -4-.
–  Unscrew bolts -2- and -3- and detach thermostat housing.

–  Remove bolts -1-.
–  Remove the thermostat -2- with O-ring -3- from the thermostat housing -4-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

t  Renew O-rings.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue.
–  Install coolant pipe (small) → Chapter.
–  Install alternator → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27
–  Install poly V-belt → Chapter.
–  Install intake manifold → Rep. Gr.24.
–  Observe notes on procedures required after connecting battery → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27.
–  Fill cooling system → Anchor.
