Removing and installing combination valve for secondary air system > < Principle and function

Test sequence
  Note
Fit all heat insulation sleeves in the original position when installing.
–  If fitted, detach cover -1- on right of engine compartment.
  A10-1030
–  Disengage solenoid valve 1 for activated charcoal filter system -N80--item 1- at air duct.
–  Unscrew bolts -arrows-.
–  Remove air duct -2-.

–  Pull back heat insulation sleeve and disconnect hose at pipe leading to combination valve for secondary air system -arrows-.
  Note
Disregard -item 1-.
–  Connect an auxiliary hose to pipe leading to combination valve for secondary air system and blow lightly into pipe with your mouth (do not use compressed air).
l  The combination valve must be closed; blowing through must not be possible.
–  Blow into pipe with your mouth using more pressure (do not use compressed air).
l  The combination valve should open; it should now be possible to blow through the pipe.
If the combination valve does not open:
–  Renew combination valve → Chapter.
