1 - Power steering box
q   For correct version refer to → Parts catalogue
2 - Pressure line
q   Note correct installation position
3 - Union nut
q   40 Nm
4 - Return line
5 - Hose clip
q   Tighten using hose clip pliers -V.A.G 1275-
q   Always renew
6 - Bolt
q   9 Nm
7 - Cap with dipstick
q   Checking fluid level → Chapter
8 - Reservoir
q   Use hydraulic fluid → Parts catalogue when filling system
9 - Rubber mounting
10 - Spring-type clip
q   Use spring-type clip pliers when tightening
11 - Suction hose
q   Note correct position on reservoir → Chapter
12 - Return hose
q   Non-return valve is located inside return hose -arrow- and must not be damaged by using hose clamps
13 - Rubber mounting
14 - Nut
q   8 Nm
15 - Hydraulic fluid cooler
q   On some engine versions a cooling pipe is fitted in place of the hydraulic fluid cooler
16 - Bolt
q   10 Nm
17 - Suction line
18 - Union nut
q   40 Nm
19 - Power steering pump
q   For correct version refer to → Parts catalogue
q   Fill with fluid before installing
q   Checking delivery pressure → Chapter
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
20 - Heat shield
q   Not fitted on all engine versions
21 - Seal
q   Always renew
22 - Banjo bolt
q   50 Nm
q   Always renew
23 - Pressure line
24 - Pressure line
q   Note correct installation position
q   Marks must coincide
