t  Lever for poly V-belt -3299- with bracket -3299/1-
  W00-1193
Removing
–  With ignition switched off, disconnect earth cable at battery → Chapter.
–  Pull off front engine cover -arrows-.
  Note
  A10-1004
Before removing, mark running direction of poly V-belt with chalk or felt-tipped pen. If the belt runs in the wrong direction when it is refitted, this can cause breakage.
–  To slacken poly V-belt, turn tensioner in direction of -arrow-.
–  Detach poly V-belt from power steering pump pulley.

–  On vehicles with auxiliary heater, unscrew bolts -arrows- for exhaust pipe of auxiliary/supplementary heater at noise insulation.

–  Unfasten bolts/quick release fasteners -1- and -2- and detach noise insulation (front).

–  Cut through cable ties -arrows-, open bracket for starter wire and take out wire.

Vehicles with automatic gearbox:
–  Unscrew nuts -1- and -2- and remove bracket for ATF lines.
All models:
–  Unclip refrigerant line from bracket at sump.
–  Detach electrical wires at alternator.

–  Unscrew bolts -arrows- and detach alternator.

Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
–  Make sure poly V-belt is properly positioned and correctly routed.
1 - Alternator
2 - Poly V-belt
3 - Power steering pump
4 - Air conditioner compressor
5 - Crankshaft
6 - Tensioning roller
–  Connect the battery. Additional steps required → Anchor.
–  Start engine and check that belt runs properly.
