  Note
The exploded view refers to the locking mechanism for the 1/3 section (left-side) of the split backrest. The locking mechanism for the 2/3 section (right-side) of the split backrest is similar.
1 - Backrest pan
2 - Key
3 - Lock cylinder
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
  Caution
t  Only remove and install lock cylinder with key properly inserted. Otherwise, tumblers and springs could drop out and lock cylinder will not function properly.
t  Observe correct installation position when installing lock cylinder. Backrest will not lock properly if installation position is incorrect.
4 - Protective cap
q   For lock cylinder
q   Detach before installing lock cylinder
  Caution
Key must have been properly inserted in lock cylinder before detaching protective cap. Otherwise, tumblers and springs could drop out and lock will not function properly.
5 - Trim
q   For locking mechanism and lock cylinder
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
6 - Locking mechanism
q   For backrest
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
7 - Bolt
q   2x per locking mechanism
q   25 Nm
