Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Special pop rivet pliers -V.A.G 1753A-
t  Drill
t  Safety goggles

Removing
–  Remove centre armrest  → Chapter.
–  Remove storage compartment (cover for backrest bracket with lid) → Chapter.
  Note
Place plastic foil between seat bench and backrest as protection against swarf.
  WARNING
Risk of injury!
Wear safety goggles.
–  Drill out rivet -3-.
–  Unscrew nuts -4- (2x).
–  Detach bracket -1- from studs -5- and pull in direction of -arrow- out of section -2-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.
Tightening torques → Chapter
